Packaging Your Expertise Into a Clear Coaching Offer

·7 min read·GoScript Team /Craft

Start with the outcome

An offer is a promise about where a client lands, not a list of your talents. Write one sentence that names the person, the problem, and the result. If you cannot fit it on one line, it is still a set of hobbies, not an offer.

The common mistake is listing every skill you own. Clients do not buy a menu. They buy a specific path from a painful now to a better later. Cut everything that does not serve that single path.

Name the person and the problem

  • Who exactly: a role, a stage of business, or a moment in life, not everyone.
  • What hurts: the problem they would pay to remove this month.
  • What changes: the result you can help them reach and roughly how fast.
  • What it costs them to stay stuck: the reason the problem is urgent now.

Clients do not buy your talents. They buy the shortest honest path out of their problem.

Shape the container

Once the outcome is clear, decide how the work runs. A weekly call, a set number of sessions, or a ninety day sprint each set different expectations. Pick the shape that matches how your clients actually change, not the shape that looks impressive.

Keep the promise inside what you can control. You can promise a clear plan, steady feedback, and your full attention. You cannot promise they will get a promotion or double their income. Sell effort and guidance, then let the result be theirs.

Test the sentence out loud

Say your offer sentence to five people in your field. If they ask what you mean, the sentence is too vague. If they nod and name someone who needs it, you have something worth selling. This test costs nothing and saves weeks.

Revise until strangers can repeat it back. A clear offer spreads on its own because people can pass it along without translating it. That simple quality often matters more than the polish of your website.

Key takeaways

  • Write one sentence naming person, problem, and outcome.
  • Cut every skill that does not serve that single path.
  • Promise what you control: guidance, feedback, and attention.
  • Test the sentence on five people before you build a page.
